Cherokee National Forest

by Chris M

Divided into two sections (the Tenn.-NC perimeter and the NE/SW Great Smoky Mountains) the 630,000 acre forest is divided by river gorges and rugged mountains. It has a plethora of outdoor fun available within its boundaries. There are over 500 miles of hiking trails, 29 campgrounds and picnic areas, swimming and boating. You can also enjoy game hunting for wild boar, deer and turkey as permitted by the Tennessee game regulations.
