Rocky Mountain Historic Site & Overmountain Museum

In Johnson City, TN you will find many great ways to spend an afternoon. One place of interest is the Rocky Mountain Historic Site and Overmountain Museum. Here you can see the 1770 log house that served as the territorial capital during the leadership of Governor William Blount from 1790-1792. It has been restored to its original state and has a log kitchen, slave quarters, barn, blacksmith shop and smokehouse. Costumed tour guides reenact a typical day in the 1700’s.
